Beant was born and raised in Amritsar, India. After graduating from Punjab University she started her travel career at the Delhi head office of Tiger Tops Mountain Travel.
She soon rose to the position of Tours Manager and was responsible for administering and leading many complex, off the beaten track and luxury oriented tour groups for companies such as Abercrombie & Kent and the World Pheasant Association.
Of the many high profile travellers and celebrities Beant has met in her career, escorting Goldie Hawn through Rajasthan to the Pushkar Camel Fair is the most memorable.
Beant married Nick in 1984 and migrated to Australia where she engaged in further studies and settled on a new career path in the IT Industry, attaining a senior position in Customer Management Services for a global corporation. Beant recently completed a Masters degree in Development Studies at Sydney University to pursue her passion and understanding of the people and cultures of the world,
Beant has traveled extensively through the Indian sub Continent, South East Asia, the Russian Far East, across the length and breadth of South America and the United States, to Europe and recently to Cuba and Mexico. She has traveled with and led several Far Horizons tours including Gobi to Kamchatka, the Caucasus, along the Silk Road, North African Horizons, the Horn of Africa, Palaces and Tigers of India, two extensive South America tours and Mississippi Horizons.
